Campaign to reduce heavy traffic flow in Throckley
For some time local residents have been concerned about the growing volume of traffic throughout the village. TRAG currently supports the efforts of Drove Road Neighbourhood Watch (DRNW) which launched a campaign to reduce the problem of heavy vehicles and of speeding through the village, particularly along Drove Road. This is an issue of major concern to residents. Part of this campaign was to explore the initiatives residents would like to take forward, DRNW has already started to liaise with the local police.
Throckley residents met in Throckley Bank Top Club on Wednesday 11th June 2008 and raised concerns regarding home security and traffic related problems in and around Throckley village. A special welcome was given to Councillor Linda Wright, Alastair Grant our Community Support Officer and Dorothy Dobson from TRAG. Everyone agreed that this was a very useful start to make Throckley a better and safer place in which to live.
Further meetings have taken place since then and anyone wishing to discusss any neighbourhood watch issues can either contact Idwal John, Drove Road Neighbourhood Watch Scheme Co-ordinator or TRAG members via the contact page. Thank you.
